When accounting students graduate and pursue their certification, they need to focus on a few different topics.
1. CPA exam application - applying for the CPA exam is not always as straight forward as it should be. Depending on what state you want to practice in, the rules might be different. It's always a good idea to check with you state board before applying.
2. CPA exam study process - students generally have a difficult time studying for the exam because it's long and hard to stay focused for that long of a time. It's important to get one of the many cpa exam prep courses out there that will work for you.
3. CPA state requirements - many of the states have different education and work experience requirements, so students should check to see what requirements they need to meet.
There's more information about all of these topics at the school of business career resource center in the college of business. Please contact them for more information and certified public accountant career resources.
